This page explains how to request deletion of your Handicap Hub account and the data associated with it. Handicap Hub is developed by The Handicap Hub Team. You can request deletion at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed.
How to Request Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your account in either of the following ways:
From within the app:
- Open the Handicap Hub app and sign in
- Go to Me → Settings → Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
By email:
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address associated with your account at support@handicaphub.co.za with the subject “Account Deletion Request”. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.
What Data Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your name and display name
- Your email address and account credentials
- Your golf club membership and home club details
- Your golf rounds, scores, and handicap history
- Your messages and group chat activity
- Your push notification tokens and app usage data
What Data Is Kept
We may retain a limited amount of information where we are legally required to, or where it is held by our payment providers:
- Transaction and payment records — retained for up to 5 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
- Subscription and purchase history — held by the Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, and RevenueCat under their own policies. You may need to manage or cancel subscriptions directly through those services.
Retained records are kept securely and are not used for any purpose other than meeting our legal obligations.
Retention Period
Account data deleted from within the app is removed immediately. Requests made by email are processed within 30 days. Records we are legally required to keep (such as transaction records) are retained for up to 5 years, after which they are deleted.
